Over these last few years, Toronto’s Ally Cribb has been quick to establish herself as one of the more passionate names on the rise right now. With her 2022 debut EP ‘Unbroken’ cementing those warm and heartfelt tones she has been exploring since she first emerged, she has been spending much of the last few years figuring out her next move and where to take her distinctive sound. And after some time away from us, she now returns with her wondrous sophomore EP ‘NOW’, a release rekindling all of that bright and emotive energy she has harnessed since she first emerged.

Ally Cribb returns with emotional new pop EP

The music of Toronto, Canada-based pop singer songwriter Ally Cribb has been featuring on our pages since the end of 2022 when I shared her debut EP Unbroken.
Now is the follow up to that EP and explores Ally’s life from eighteen and into her early 20s, and the emotional turbulence that comes from romance in that period in our lives. Unlike Unbroken, Ally is the solo writer on all five tracks on Now, meaning we get a deeply personal record.

Co-founders Taylor Louderman (Mean Girls) and Ben Rauhala have revealed the winners of the 2024 Write Out Loud contest. Celebrating emerging musical theatre writers and their original work, 2024 marked the sixth annual competition.
This year’s four winning songs include “California” by Ally Cribb, “Necromancy” by Wren Mied, “Self-Portrait” by José Alba rodríguez and Yejune Kim, and “Fade Away” by William Shishmanian and Brooke Trumm.
